Monday, March 8, 2021 – Early voting is underway for the 2nd and 5th Congressional District U.S. Representative races, and continues until Saturday, March 13th. In preparation for both early voting and the March 20th primary election, the Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance (GNOHA) is releasing their #PutHousingFirst Congressional Candidate Scorecards. Candidates who did not respond received a 0% F.
While GNOHA does not officially endorse any political candidates, we encourage voters to consider the scorecard as they go to the polls. GNOHA continues to challenge candidates to acknowledge the affordable housing crisis and #PutHousingFirst initiative by releasing scorecards ranking candidates based on their housing policy platforms.
Since its creation in 2007, GNOHA has sought to create change in the Greater New Orleans community through public policy advocacy and public education. The collaborative advocates for the preservation and production of affordable housing for people within the Greater New Orleans metropolitan region and places a special emphasis on the needs of the most vulnerable in society – seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, low-wage workers and low-income families.
